About Our practice: St Raphael's Dental Practice team providing orthodontics and smile makeovers, upholland WiganWe are advanced in the treatment of both nervous patients and those with differing degrees of dental phobia. We have helped many of our patients overcome their fears and we love to see them attending appointments on a regular basis.

Our main focus as a practice is on prevention.  Historically the role of a dentist has always been to provide treatment and this still remains part of our work.  However we prefer to work with our patients to help them maintain their own oral health.  This allows our patients to make the best and most informed decisions for long-term care.

We recommend seeing your dentist on a regular basis.  This allows you to maintain your oral health at the best possible level. Your dentist will advise you about how frequently you need to see us and, along with the hygienist, will explain how you can prevent gum disease and tooth decay. Please follow our advice with the aim being to minimise the need for further treatment in future. That’s simply why we do what we do.
